The singer-songwriter that’s
about to change the R&B
game this year.
Pink Sweat$ career has been
nothing short of incredible. At
26 years old, the artist already
had his share of struggle,
survival and overcoming. Born
and. Raised in Philadelphia,
and now based in New York.
Sweat$ started his career by
being just a songwriter and
never had dreams of becoming
an artist, he liked the idea of
privacy (according to his
Billboard interview). Due to his
skillful pen game and soothing
vocals, his manager couldn’t
allow this talent to go to waste
and encouraged him to change
routes. This is where his first
project, Volume 1 came alive.
Although it is only 6 tracks and
under 15 minutes long, his
lyricism is captivating. His
project standout track Honesty
starts off with a simple, yet
stunning guitar sound, whilst
his smooth and gentle voice
croons ‘She said, baby, I’m
afraid to fall in love, Cause
what if it's not reciprocated’. I
very tantalising track, that
allows you to sit back, close
your eyes and enjoy the music.
It then goes into his 1m42s
track Call Me, a sonically
charged song with a beautiful
piano melody allows this song
to be short, similar to an
interlude, it works well and
intertwines with his next track
Drama. A fun song about his
dreams and aspirations in life,
singing ‘big dreams, big
dreams, mama said “son, you
‘gon do big things”, you just
gotta you just gotta go get it’.
