There were happy moments and terribly sad ones and of course the moment when you look upon something with awe. These are shared throughout the magazine in this, its first issue.
Its the first issue of a monthly digital magazine which I am delighted to be starting at the same time I started Xactavent.
I am using this opportunity to introduce myself as Managing editor of an interesting magazine with subjects that would interest those of us who love going to events and exhibitions and a behind the scenes story of activations and why they either are successful or they fail.
Every month there are giveaways, competitions and of course not forgetting the opportunity to complete our online survey to tell us what you think of the stories of that issue.
I have published and edited 9 titles in the last 10 years and with an IT background, I can share moments that I experience between issues.
The magazine is designed in such as way that readers are able to print those articles that is a "keeper!".
I look forward to being your host each month, sharing information and making our concerts, exhibitions and events a safer place to be.

What's up this month?
In memory of
Garth McLeod
Today is a sad day for the South African entertainment industry as we mourn the loss of iconic drummer of Sugardrive, Martin Rock & The Sick Shop and WONDERboom - as well as Manager of Marshall Msuic (Woodmead), GARTH McLEOD (44).
On the morning of Friday 15th March 2013 at approx 09h30, Garth McLeod was involved in a fatal motorcyle accident on his way to work at Marshall Music. Details as to the cause of the accident are still sketchy, but it appears that whilst riding around a bend, he lost control of his motorbike and he impacted with a street sign. No other motor vehicle was involved.
His wife Anne-Mari and members of the respective bands he was part of, responded in shock upon arrival at the scene, and are deeply saddened at this sudden loss of such a great husband, music talent, and dear friend.
As messages of condolence pour in from friends and colleagues in South Africa and around the world, it is evident what a tragic loss has been encountered today.
RIP Garth McLeod - a king amongst men and pioneer of the SA drumming community - you will be sadly missed.
