STRANGE BUT TRUE...
Being a skilled extensionist fuels your ability to confidently manage just about
every client request and scenario. But these RAT Pack extension experiences
are well, just a little out of the ordinary. But all in a day’s work, eh...
WINDOW DRESSING WAN SOME
“A salon I once worked in was keen to do an
EXTENSIONS?
attention-grabbing local promo to showcase our
extensions service,” explains Esther. “Oasis, the
fashion brand a few doors down were happy to join
in and took one of the fashion mannequins out of the
window, replacing the space left with me! No, not
as a living mannequin (are you kidding?) but doing
extensions demos on keen and eager models. Talk
about knowing what it’s like to be a creature in a
zoo! Mind you we had a fantastic response so it
was worth all the full-on exposure.”
“Another unusual occasion was at the end of a
long day of filming for TV show How to Look Good
Naked. The crew and make-over team all sat having
pizza and wine for some inexplicable reason I
spontaneously started to extend Gok Wan’s fringe!
He’s so easy going he just let me get on with
it and thought it looked great..!”

MANE EVENT
“I was approached by lovely equestrian competitor Jade
Pirie, who was thrilled to have qualified to present at the
British Show Pony Society event at Olympia in London with her
beautiful little pony called Deagol,” says Nikki Gallimore.
“However, what Jade wasn’t so thrilled about was that Deagol had
unfortunately rubbed off half of his mane! Not a good look for a show
pony! Jade had seen my extension work in the salon and wondered if I
could help.
“So I trotted along to see Deagol at his stable in Astbury, Congleton and
decided to give it my best shot,” says Nikki. “He looked well patchy and
a bit grumpy when I arrived but half an hour and several bonds later and
his mane was as good as new!
“Best of all was Jade and Deagol’s triumph of winning the Best of Breed
in the Exmoor category. You see it’s true; Racoon extensions really do
offer the ultimate in style versatility..!”

ANIMAL MAGIC
“My creativity was certainly put to the test when
a lad I knew volunteered to wear a chameleon
on his head in order to get free entry and drinks
for a month to his favourite night club, called
of course – Chameleon. I coloured his natural and
extension hair green and used my imagination to create
as good a chameleon as I could. It worked!” The things
people do to get a drink these days!!
