Overlooking a golf course with sprawling lawns, the stage at Hotel Royal
Orchid was all set for a grand event on 25th May 2013 in the garden city of
Bengaluru. Over 80 XIMBians from previous batches had gathered to
invigorate and relive the memories of their cherished Alma mater. The
occasion was further embellished by members of the esteemed faculty
fraternity Fr. Donald D'Silva, Prof. Umesh H Rao, Prof. Sasmit Patra, and
Prof. Saveeta Mohanty.
The event kick started with a formal briefing by Prof. Sasmit Patra
followed by briefing about the launch of the Xavier University by the
Director. The Alums had a lively interaction and came up with their
concerns to improvise the network of XIMB to be a better platform for
interaction among them. A flash was played commemorating the
institute's silver jubilee and highlighting the various events that took
place in the year gone by. The regional co-coordinator for the Bangalore
edition Mr. Nilanjan Roy (a distinguished alumnus of the 2003 batch) also
addressed the elite gathering.

The formal discussion was followed by the cake cutting ceremony by the
kids of the Alumni, post which the floor was thrown open for dance as goes
the tradition of XIMB's “JLT”. As the saying goes “Happiness is short lived”,
and before anyone could realize, the splendid evening had to come to an
end as the Alumni parted their way bidding adieu with their thoughts
echoing “Phir Milenge”…
