Worksets and Collaboration
-Detaching from central and
creating a new central.
Detaching a file from a central
allows you to take a file home
because it is not looking for a
connection to a central.
In fact, once detached, Revit
will ask you if you would like to
preserve or discard the
worksets.
Preserve – will keep the
worksets, when you save
again, Revit will create a new
central from this file. New
Locals will have to be created
from this file again to continue
work.
Discard – will collapse the
worksets. This file will not be a
Worksharing file anymore and
can be saved as a normal
project.
Step 4
Collaboration with other
consultants.
When working with a
consultant, your Revit file will
be linked into the Consultant’s
project.
They will extract your Grids
and Levels to work from.
Using Copy and Monitor
commands.
They could even Acquire
coordinates of your drawing.
Manage > Coordinates >
Acquire coordinates.
