Worksets and Collaboration
Once saved, go to collaborate
> Relinquish All Mine.
This step is vital because it
relinquishes your ownership of
Worksets. Without this only
User A can work in this file.
Close the file.
No one should work in this file.
You should create a Local File
and work in the local file.
Step 2
Creating local files
There are 2 ways to create a
local file:
1 – copying the central file
2 – Through opening.
Option 1 is the best way to
create a Local File.
In windows explorer, navigate
to the Central File. Select,
CNTR + C (Copy)
CNTR+P(Paste). Right click
on the file, and rename: MDC
Building – User A.RVT
Repeat the process to create :
MDC Building – User B.RVT.
Now everyone in the office
can distinguish between the
Central, and the two Local
files.
Open User A’s file in the User
A’s Revit.
Open User B’s file in the User
B’s Revit.
When opening a Local file,
Open the local file by using
