Conceptual Massing
CREATING BASIC FORMS IN CONCEPTUAL M ASSING
Firstly it is very important to
know and pay attention on
which reference plane you are
working. Revit automatically
sets the Work Plane to the last
reference plane or work plane
that you selected. You start off
with three work or reference
planes. These are; Level 1,
Centre (Front/Back) and
Centre (Left/ Right).
We will be working on the
Work plane Level 1. In the
Conceptual Mass environment
you can use Levels same as
you do in the project
environment. These Levels
however do not carry over
when the Conceptual Mass
Family is loaded into the
project. Therefore they are
mostly used as guides for the
size of the Conceptual Mass
that is created.
If you want to create new
Levels simply select the Level
1 in 3D, hold the Ctrl Key
down and drag the Level 1
upwards. This creates a copy
of Level 1 which is called
Level 2. You can also set the
Height or Distance from the
first level by clicking on the
Temporary Dimension and
inserting your own length.
