To create a new parameter,
select New Parameter (located
in the bottom right of the pop-
up, the parameter properties
pop-up will then appear.
In the parameter properties
pop-up you will notice that a
shared parameter is all you can
use. Click the select button and
you will be taken to the shared
parameters pop-up this will
graphically allow you to choose
any shared parameter setup
within the shared parameters
text file.
A shared parameter file is an
external text file which is
generated within Revit.
In either the project or family
environment, on the Manage
Panel, select Shared
Parameters. If no Shared
Parameters file is selected, you
have the option to create one.
As you will endeavour to create
one should parameters file for
your company, the need to
group the various parameters
you require will become
paramount. To organise your
shared parameters file, create
groups for similar parameters.
Thereafter, create the
parameters you need (for our
tag we need a parameter called
parameter which is a text
parameter, i.e. you need to
enter text it) See right
With the label placed in the
correct parameter selected,
load your tag into the project.
In the project environment, with
several doors already placed,
on the annotate tab select tag
