Modelling – Floors, Columns and Beams
If you require perimeter
columns to be rotated,
simply select them and
press the spacebar, this
will rotate them 90°
Columns can also be
attached to elements such
as roofs and reference
planes (these are quite
handy to quickly adjust the
model, by rotating them
any attached columns will
adjust)
Regarding the attachment,
you are able to select
either the top, the base,
the attachment style
(whether it is cut or not),
the attachment
justification, and finally and
offset from the attachment
Note how the columns
adjust when the reference
plane is rotated.
Regarding column joins
with walls, the image right
indicates four conditions:
1. The initial placement of
the column over the wall
(note you can clearly see
the un joined wall beneath
the selected column
2. The column is joined to
the wall.
3. The joined column is un
