Family Creation 2 (parametric Arrays)
Inside the Family Types
Dialogue window. Click on the
button under Parameter ‘Add’.
The Parameter Properties
dialogue window opens up. We
will call this parameter ‘Door
Number’. It will be an ‘Integer’
Type of Parameter. We will
leave it as a ‘Type’ parameter
because we want this to apply
for all the Cupboards that are
placed. You can ‘Group’ the
parameter anywhere you like,
but for this exercise we can
group it under the
‘Construction’. This will also
make it easier to change the
number of doors when we edit
the cupboard inside the
project. Door Number will drive
Array Number; the formula that
will make this work needs to be
inserted into the Array Number
row.
if(Door Number < 2 , 2, Door Number)
The formula is as follows;
If, the Door Number is less than 2 make it 2 otherwise make
it Door Number
This translates into:
As you can see. The number 1
is inserted into the Door
Number field; Array Number
stays 2 and will not become
less than 2. If any number
higher than 2 is inserted into
the Door Number field then this
number will fill-in for Array
Number.
