Family Creation 2 (parametric Arrays)
This formula will stop the
cupboard from becoming
shorter than 1000mm long. All
other values higher than
1000mm will be accepted and
the Width of the cupboard will
adjust to the new value.
Remember that the actual
dimension that is controlling
the width of the cupboard is
still Width.
On clicking ‘Apply’ you will see
that the parameter Width and
its Value will have greyed out
and is now taking the Cupboard
Width parameter’s value.
Make the Cupboard Width
value 500 and notice that the
Width parameter won’t accept
this.
Note:
Formulae are case and syntax
sensitive. Therefore make sure
that when using a parameter in
a formula it is spelled exactly
the same as the parameter it is
referring to. Revit will add mm
and spacing into the formula
on its own after clicking out of
the formula field.
Set the Cupboard Width to
2000mm
