Family Creation 1 (Basics)
After renaming the duplicated
material, right click on it again
and select the “Edit” option.
This will open up the “Material
Editor” window.
Within the “Material Editor”
window, in the “Assets” area,
“Graphics” row, expand the
“Surface Pattern” row. The
default “Pattern” will be set to
“None”. Click within the
“Surface Pattern” row to open
up the “Fill Pattern” window,
with a “Pattern Type” of
“Drafting”.
When selecting the “Model”
“Pattern Type”, you will notice
that there are no default
patterns within the family.
(“Drafting” pattern types will
not align to geometry in a 3D
view, whereas the “Model”
pattern type will align to
geometry). To create a new fill
pattern, click on the “New”
icon.
Within the “Add Surface
Pattern”, name the new
pattern “40mm Horisontal”.
Set the “Line Angle” to 0
Degrees, with a “Line
Spacing” of 40mm. When
done, press “OK”
