Modelling – Floors , Columns and Beams
Due to the fact that we working with structural beams , Revit automatically connect these beams , sometimes not in a way we would like . ( See right )
Joining Beams correctly is achieved on the Geometry Panel , by using the Bean / Column Join tool . When this is activated and the required the enjoys to be shown , checked all beams capable of being joined will be indicated by arrows and seen right . All that is now required is to manipulate either or both of these arrows in order to achieve the desired join
Tip : usually both arrows facing away from the intended join will result in a miter , ( indicated right near the little lock icon )
Using this tool , one can achieve the examples displayed on the right , the vertical join is achieved by having 2 horizontal beams joined by a vertical beam ( drawn by sketch using 3-D snapping )
