Family Creation 2 (parametric Arrays)
If you switch on a 3D view then
you should have something
similar to the image shown.
It is now time to start building
in some formulae and
parameters to control what our
cupboard is doing.
For starters I want to build in a
parameter that will control the
Width of the Kitchen Cupboard
to not be less than 1000mm
and not greater than 6000mm.
this is done using a formulae
and in this particular case a
new parameter that we will add
in. we create a new parameter
because we cannot control a
parameter by inserting its own
name into a formulae. Revit will
give you a warning that you
cannot use circular chains of
references. Please see the
image.
The new parameter that we will
add in will be as follows:

Pay special attention
to the ‘Discipline’ and
‘Type of Parameter’
fields. We know that
we are working with a
‘Length’ parameter at
the moment. If you
