f you hear Lacy recall details of her and Dan’s January 3, 2015 wedding,
you’ll instantly realize that family, community and tradition are values
that are embedded deeply in the couple’s fiber. The bride, a native of
Powell, and Dan chose to locate their wintry wedding to Dan’s hometown of
Lusk, a decision that played in well with the idea of a future in the community. “At the time, my thought was that it would be a way to get acquainted
with the tight-knit community of Lusk, which was to be my new home,” Lacy
explains. “Looking back, it was the best decision I could have made. It was a
wonderful start to becoming a member of this community.”
The couple, however, met near Lacy’s hometown in December 2013,
when Dan visited Cody as part of the Wyoming LEAD Program’s 13th Class,
a statewide leadership program for agriculture professionals. The class was
attending a seminar focused on technology in agriculture, and visited Cow
Country Genetics, Inc., just outside of Cody – Lacy’s family business, where
she was employed as office manager and laboratory technician.
Dave, Lacy’s father, welcomed the group and described operations at the
clinic – including referring to Lacy. “I had noticed a little blonde bouncing
around in the office just adjacent to where we were seated,” Dan remembers.
“Dave coaxed her out of the office to say hi to us. She seemed a bit shy and
uncomfortable in front of the group, but I thought she was the most gorgeous girl I had ever seen. I noticed there was not a ring on her finger, and was
