was the last thing she thought he was plotting. Naturally, doing anything publicly in New York City draws a crowd! “I (obviously) said ‘yes’ and the ENTIRE rink (guests and employees) stopped to applaud our engagement. I embar- rass easily in front of large crowds, so that got me in the best way possible! [I] couldn’t have been happier!” After sharing the news with their parents, they shared a “swanky bottle of champagne” in a beautiful hotel with Alain before Steve and Tanner hurried off to catch a Broadway show. “Our engagement will always be one of my favorite days!” Tanner says happily. The two planned a day incorporating the outdoors, their family and friends. Their July 20, 2019 wedding was held in two iconic Laramie locations: ceremony at the Vee Bar Guest Ranch, and reception at the Marian Rochelle Gate- way Center on the University of Wyoming campus. “Both locations were great to work with and made that part of the planning process so easy!” Tanner says. Their family was an important consideration into their special day. Before proposing, Steve had asked both of Tan- ner’s parents for their blessing, something that was special to her. Both Steve’s and Tanner’s mothers spoke during their ceremony. “That was so cool for us,” Tanner shares. “Two 16 Wyoming Weddings women who love their children more than anything else in the world stood and shared wonderful words of wisdom and love … we are so thankful.” She adds, “We are also blessed to have the love and support of our family and friends on our wedding day, standing under our arch and the wide- open Wyoming sky … that was the only other thing we needed. It was perfect.” When it comes to wedding planning, Tanner recommends making sure you enjoy your day, no matter what. “Make the day what the two of you want!” she says. “I try to be as orga- nized and thought-out as possible, to a fault some days! [N]o matter how much planning you put into it and no matter how organized or not you are on that day, the most important thing is you and your partner’s happiness, love and commitment to each other on that day and each day after.” The couple loved working with Brian Harrington and his partner Danica of BHP Imaging. “Brian took our engage- ment photos and was the no-brainer choice to have capture our wedding day too,” Tanner says. “Brian and Danica played such an important role on our big day, capturing Steve and I and our friends and family. They were much more than pho- tographers; they were well-choreographed friends who helped to keep everything stress-free and moving smoothly.”
