J
ill, originally from Texas, met Alex, originally from
Montana, when Alex was visiting a Texas Hilton
property where Jill was working at the time. “He came
by the front desk and we just hit it off,” Jill says. “I thought
that would be it, but he texted me the next day and it just
took off!”
The two planned a trip to Dubois to experience the Solar
Eclipse in August 2017 – many places in Wyoming, includ-
ing Dubois’s Fremont County, were on the direct path of
the total eclipse. “We were in a random spot, in the middle
of nowhere on the top of a mountain,” Jill says. “I was wait-
ing for the eclipse to happen & placed my glasses on and
next thing I knew Alex asked me to marry him! I was so
surprised!” The ring had been accidentally shipped to their
prior house in Colorado, so Alex improvised by making a
makeshift ring out of a piece of straw. “It was very unex-
pected, and very Alex,” Jill says happily.
Jill wanted to make their wedding a blend of Montana
and Wyoming styles, while also having a splash of Texas
glitz and glam. She was unsure where to start and found
a wedding planner that helped make the process smooth.
“Having a wedding planner for the day of the wedding
seriously saved me,” she says. “They made sure everything
I wanted was done just as I hoped.” She also recommends
sending your Save the Dates and RSVPs earlier rather than
later, as well as enjoying the sampling process for caterers
