applying to return to North Dakota for a graduate
program, and they visited Assiniboine Zoo one day.
“Riley proposed in front of the polar bears!” Regan
says. “It was very sweet and unexpected.”
The two planned a wedding on Casper Moun-
tain, which turned into a beautiful day that was
perfect. “I’m much more experience-oriented than
detail-oriented, meaning I don’t believe everything
needs to appear perfect to result in a wonder-
ful day,” Regan explains. “Plus, it gets expensive
if you’re trying to stay within a budget! If you’re
anything like me, try to remember that your guests
aren’t going to remember what color your chair
covers were or if you were wearing a designer dress,
they’re going to remember how the day made
them feel.”
Their experience-oriented ceremony was very
genuine to Riley & Regan, and bringing their
loved ones to Casper Mountain to celebrate their
marriage was very important to them. “{The
ceremony} was short, but we wanted to pack a
punch,” Regan explains. Her brother officiated the
ceremony – “He gave a great speech!” she adds –
and they wrote their own vows. “Riley and I aren’t
the most romantic couple in the world, especially
around others, so this was a very intimate ceremo-
ny and it was so special to say our vows in front of
all our loved ones.”
