and cake makers – “It’s the best part!” Jill adds with a laugh.
Jill also advises to give yourself plenty of time in the
planning process and to make sure you follow your heart.
“Know what you want, and don’t let others persuade you to
do something different,” she says. When it came to selecting
their venue, Alex and Jill knew that an outdoor location in
the Cody area, where they had lived for a year, was just what
they were hoping for. They knew they had found the perfect
place when they saw the UXU Ranch and the beautiful
scenery surrounding the property. “It was perfect,” Jill says.
“We knew that was it.”
Their wedding was a smooth, enjoyable event, with out
of town guests enjoying the UXU Ranch and its amenities.
They also were treated to some special visitors at the ranch,
including a grizzly bear and her two cubs and many other
types of wildlife, providing a special sight for their guests!
“They were all taking pictures!” Jill laughs. Their day also
incorporated a tribute to the memory of Jill’s grandfather.
They used his Bible in their ceremony, and Jill included pins
from his Army uniform on her dress. “He was so special to
me, and I really wanted him to be a part of my wedding,”
Jill says.
Alex and Jill currently live in Colorado, where Jill is
working toward a career as a nurse specializing in sexual
assault care, and Alex works as a completions engineer. They
are planning a honeymoon in the spring of 2019 (they’re
currently leaning toward visiting Hawaii), and they hope to
start a family in the near future. n
