The moment was specifically crafted by Brady, who knew
that the presence of both their families was ideal. “He
had chosen to pop the question that night because both
of our families were present, and to each of us family is
the most important thing,” Tavy says. Brady had also
been sure to involve a very important family member –
Tavy’s father. “I was later told he asked my father for my
hand that year during Thanksgiving, which was a very
important gesture for my father and me.”
The two embarked on a fast but furious eight months of
planning, with their wedding set for August 30, 2014.
“When it came to planning the wedding I believe we
picked a time frame that was beneficial to both of our
sanities,” Tavy says. “Since we had chosen to accomplish
everything in such a small time frame, we had to buckle
down and start immediately. However, I fear if we would
have had more time we would have stressed on every
small minor detail and would have lost sight of the main
picture -- becoming husband and wife.”
The two planned a wedding to be held at Collins Ranch
(belonging to a family friend) in Thermopolis. “We chose
to have the wedding outside in the middle of a hay field,
with the reception to follow in a large tent beside the hay
stacks,” Tavy explains. The tent ended up
rescuing the day, as an hour-long downpour
and constant drizzle thereafter stayed in
step with a great deal of 2014 summer
weddings affected by Wyoming’s unusually rainy summer.
“I was told it was a good omen,” Tavy adds.
“I grew up in a ranching family, so ‘western’ and ‘antique
rustic’ were the main themes I wanted to have flowing
– as well as simplicity,” Tavy says. “Almost everything
we used as a decoration was handmade by ourselves or
our families.” Delicate baby’s breath served as the main
flower, and the attire was kept chic, simple and western.
“The most important thing for both of us was that everyone enjoyed being there,” Tavy adds.
The word ‘unique’ continued to play an important role
in Tavy & Brady’s wedding plans, and through a lucky
find and one great friend, they were able to make a connection with Wyoming Whiskey. “It was a perfect fit for
the both of us. It was located only a few short miles from
the wedding, and most of all was the something ‘unique’
that we were searching for. We wanted to make sure that
our wedding party was going to have as much fun on
our day as we were going to have.”
The staff at Wyoming Whiskey went above and beyond
to make Tavy & Brady’s day special. “They spent so
much of their own time trying to make sure that our
wedding photos and our experience with them were
perfect. We could have never asked for a better group
of people,” Tavy says. To look at the photos of these
two, you can tell the day was perfect and captured that
‘unique’ feel they were aiming for.
In a move that reminds me much of my own husband, Brady stepped in to describe their honeymoon
in Mexico. “We stayed at an amazing resort located in
Playa del Carmen. The resort was adults only and all
inclusive, which is really nice, and far less stressful. We
used a travel agent to plan our getaway so we could focus
on the wedding. We had the opportunity to stay for an
entire week, which was perfect. We traveled to the ruins
of Talum and got to experience the culture of Mexico.
On the very last night, we had an unforgettable dinner
for two on the beach. While we were eating, we got to
watch a huge storm roll in from the ocean. Between the
lighting flashing and the sunset, it was an epic way to
end our honeymoon!”
