ents, who came from Switzerland in 1911, homesteaded
in the valley. Jane’s father and mother, Walter and Betty
Feuz, bought the piece of ranch property, which is still
in the family today. It is from a portion of that property that Grant’s Horse Whisperer presentations and
the Diamond Cross Ranch business operate. Offered
an opportunity to host Horse Whisperer presentations
outside of Nashville, Tennessee, Grant and Jane prefer
to maintain their ongoing desire to enjoy the Wyomingbased Diamond Cross Ranch to showcase the West.
In fact, Wyoming’s Diamond Cross Ranch began entertaining corporate groups 20 years ago when asked if
they might host a private rodeo for Microsoft executives.
Grant and Jane thought they could, and a large tent was
purchased to usher the opportunity. From timber found
on the ranch, Jane and Grant cut the stakes to support
the tent. An array of horses, trees, and flowers accented
the Teton backdrop. Since that time, Diamond Cross
Ranch offers the live Horse Whisperer presentations for
corporate groups and rehearsal dinners. On a wedding
day, a herd of horses is released after the bride walks down
the aisle, as an exclamation point to this very special day!
With acknowledgements as a showcase location, Grant’s
notoriety continues to build. Other lodges continue
to request and book the Diamond Cross Ranch Horse
Whisperer experience. Consequently, a 13,000 square
foot arena has been built to accommodate audience demand. Naturally, the lure of horses appearing in wedding
ceremonies is one of the appeal facets at Diamond Cross.
One of the more famous photo sessions including a
horse as backdrop took place during the Diamond Cross
Ranch photo session of Abby and Walt on September 1st of 2012. Professional Wedding Planner Kathi
Michel, and Photographer Arnica Spring, escorted Abby
and Walt into the horse pasture for a “couple of photos”
in front of the Tetons with horses. When Arnica posed
Abby and Walt with Abby’s extended train, Smooch,
one of the ranch quarter horses, walked over, picked up
the train…AND THEN LOOKED RIGHT INTO
THE CAMERA! The party burst into laughter during
such a priceless moment - one which could never be
duplicated. After all, Grant does not train horses to pick
up a bride’s wedding gown! Smooch simply wanted to
Due to Diamond Cross event success, nearby Jackson
Lake Lodge continued to request presentations and suggest celebrations at Diamond Cross. Accommodating
draw and appeal, guests began to arrive not only from
the Jackson Lake Lodge, but also from the Four Seasons,
The Terra Resort, Teton Mountain Lodge, The Wort,
and Snake River Lodge and Spa.
