WYKEHAM JOURNAL 2024
I read back over my Valete book recently. Pages upon pages of love and connection. There was no social hierarchy. Everyone found their place somewhere. On my leavers ' trip, I almost cried when we spoke of how grateful we were to each other.
These people meant something personal to me. From my Valete book, an excerpt of the feelings and camaraderie we all shared:
You really are a true friend;
It’ s so sad that I only knew you for two years,
Thank you for being such great company in Trant’ s,
I have enjoyed our deep conversations.
Dulce domum: sweetly homeward. It seems apt. Win Coll was more than just a physical home; it is the mental home that a heart flies back to after all its peregrinations.
