Eleven boys secured their ATCL or LTCL
diplomas, with seven being awarded Distinctions.
Brandon Chan (C, 2017-) was awarded a
distinction in his ATCL Violin Diploma – an
outstanding achievement for a First Year boy.
The College Chamber Orchestra performed
works by Mendelssohn, Grieg and Haydn
in the Milton Court Concert Hall at the
Barbican and in Hong Kong.

Concerto performances during the year included
Bernard Ko (C, 2013-18) in Prokofiev’s First
Piano Concerto, Joseph Rhee (E, 2013-18) in
Mozart’s Bassoon Concerto, and Asker Kurt-Elli
(A, 2016-18), as the oboe soloist in Bach’s
Concerto for Oboe and Violin.
Recordings – The cover feature of the November
2017 edition of The Gramophone was Mozart’s
Requiem. Inside the magazine there was an
excellent review of Chapel Choir’s recording
with the London Mozart Players.
The Glee Club performed Brahms’s German
Requiem and Song of Destiny in the Cathedral,
and Bach’s Mass in B minor in New Hall.
The new Visiting Artists Series welcomed eminent
musicians to the College, including Benjamin
Grosvenor, Adrian Brendal (G, 1990-94), James
Gilchrist (A, 1979-84) and Stile Antico, directed
by Andrew Griffiths (Coll, 1993-98).
