The College brings together under one ‘umbrella’ its relations with all constituents
of the Wykehamical family, including Old Wykehamists, parents past and present,
the Quirister Association and the Friends of Winchester College, through the Winchester
College Society. The aims of the Society are to maintain and build good relations amongst
the worldwide Wykehamical family, foster support for the School and pride in all it seeks
to achieve and encourage the culture of giving.
In 2014-15, the part played by
volunteers in this endeavour
was of particular note. Members
of the Governing Body played
a significant role, offering
challenge grants and supporting
networking efforts by attending
events and making contact with
individuals. Additionally, the
American Friends and the Hong
Kong Friends of Winchester
College continued to build
relationships and secure support
through exciting event programmes
and personal contacts, and the
Guild movement continued to
grow the worldwide Wykehamical
community. The Win Co Sum Pa
committee worked tirelessly to
make the 2015 Summer Party a
celebration of everything great
about Winchester, and to welcome
new parents into the fold. Finally,
in many instances, individuals
whose passion for the cause has
encouraged others to contribute,
examples of which are given in
this Journal.
