Angeliki Voreopoulou - Mandalo Primary School, Pella, Greece
Hello, my name is Angeliki Voreopoulou and over the last 10 years I have been teaching
English in Greek state Primary schools. My job involves teaching a foreign language to
children aged between 6 and 12 years old and can be pretty demanding as this target
group needs constant stimulation and a variety of activities to keep their interest and
motivation at high levels. My teaching is mainly focused on ​ helping students increase
their self-esteem along with a feeling of success while enjoying language learning and
viewing it as a meaningful and well-worth experience. I tend to adopt a more creative
teaching approach because it helps students discover new talents, diverse strengths
and latent abilities needed not only for language learning but for lifelong education
since creativity encourages flexible thinking and resourcefulness.​​ I also engage my
students in all sorts of different programmes like etwinning that give opportunities for
authentic language learning and bring students closer to their European peers. Quite
recently, Mandalo Primary School has been awarded the title of Etwinning School for
2018-19 and myself an Awarded Etwinner due to our devotion and dedication to
educational programmes that bring solidarity around Europe and promote innovation,
creativity and cooperation in learning.
