One christmas day everyone was in the trenches we all received a box. Everyone is really happy because we got a little gift. I really miss my family because we all had this tradition that we all gather together on christmas day and open presents. I guess I could pretend the soldiers were my family then it would be kinda like normal . Anyways we were all are opening the box and it is freezing cold and snowing this really suck’s but we all opened it and got lots of goodies. Inside there was smokes, candy, pencils, supplies like stationery and soap and a photo of Princess Mary. I tried the candy it was amazing it tasted so good and sweet I haven’t had anything like this in a long time it was also very chewy and soft there was more candy! I ate that one this one was very different is was hard you couldn't chew it you had to suck on it if you chewed it you would probably break your teeth or at least chip your tooth. I left the box and moved on to my normal life we all played cards and had a good time. After we played cards we got bored again and played football we played for a really long time. Football is my favorite thing to do in my free time. The German’s and the Britannians met in the middle and they all came together for christmas they played a game of football the leader’s got mad that we were getting close so we had to go back to our side’s it was dark and I came back to my christmas box I forgot about this I am just realizing that this christmas was not as bad as I thought!
