Dudley Duverne also known as "Prince Muziq" was born July 5th, 1990 ( 23 Whippany, United States).
Recognized for creating media artwork by referencing love, positivity, inspirational factors, and everyday life in his lyrics. Muziq creates his works from a world view perspective as he quotes “I want everything I write to relate to someone in some way or form, if not its selfish.”
Muziq was born into a musically talented family. His late uncle Riguad Duverne was a well-known singer-songwriter who formed a band called “Helping Hands” in his home country Haiti and the Dominican Republic. Muziq’s father also very musically talented played the horn in the band. They are still known today for multiple hit singles such as “I Don’t Know”, “Oh Dieu” and many more. Muziq is inspired by a variety of different artists and genres of music. He says in an interview, “Honestly I listen to every style of music. I love to hear what every genres have trending and try to relay it into one style.” He loves listening to the sounds of Marvin Gaye, Maxwell, Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson, and Luther Vandross. He says“I just find myself really attached to the real music we lack today; However, I give TGT, Bruno Mars, JT, and Bridget Kelly all the credit they deserve for bringing it back”.
His media artwork doesn’t reference recognizable form. By applying abstraction, he creates a story line between the lines.
His works are made through sleepless nights in the studio, and liberating constraints which can be perceived as liberating constraints. Romantic values such as ‘inspiration’, ‘geniuses’ and ‘authenticity’ are thereby neutralized and put into perspective. With a conceptual approach, he tries to approach a wide scale of subjects in a multi-layered way, likes to involve the listener in a way that is sometimes physical and believes in the idea of function following form in a work.
