When the COVID-19 health pandemic struck our communities ,
employees of the Larry H . Miller Group of Companies got to work , with our ever-present can-do attitude . We ’ ve put together a few stories from around the Group that showcase the strength of our culture and our power to innovate .
LHM DEALERSHIPS The COVID-19 virus made a big impact on the global economy , including the automotive , health care , and entertainment worlds . Almost overnight , people were working from home , ordering everything online , and driving less and less . For a while , it looked like our dealerships might be in a tough position , but thanks to clear-headed leadership , dedicated employees , and a commitment to doing good , we not only survived but thrived .
Saxton Horne and Total Care Auto quickly shifted to a remote work model , where Zoom meetings became a way to collaborate and work together to ensure that each dealership and each customer got the attention and quality services they deserved .
With car sales in many of our states deemed non-essential and showrooms forced to close , LHM Dealerships launched a new initiative that allowed people to buy a vehicle via digital retail and have it delivered to their door . In dealership service departments , MAO introduced complimentary concierge vehicle pickup and delivery . Members of the service team picked up a customer ’ s vehicle at their home or office , repaired or provided maintenance at the dealership , and then delivered the vehicle back to the customer ’ s home .
Even when we had to streamline our operations and make changes , we still found ways to help , as was the case with LHM Ford Mesa . COVID forced them to close their beloved café , but instead of letting all of their food spoil , they immediately got to work and donated it to those in need .
As the world adjusted , we made sure we were ahead of the curve . We also ensured that all of our facilities were meeting every standard of sanitization and hygiene , so that when our customers came into our dealerships , they would feel safe and taken care of . As masks became a workplace requirement , LHM associates did their part to get everyone a mask , from Deb Jones at Miller Automotive Operations , who hand-sewed 200 masks herself , to Farley Hamilton , an employee at LHM Toyota Lemon Grove , who worked with his son and daughter-in-law to sew masks for the entire service team .
