Well , talk among yourself about the weather , like British people do , while Donington hosts its 62nd , 63rd and 64th WorldSBK races . Here ’ s hoping every one is a sun-kissed British belter .
Triumphalism !
Unless you have been deprived of outside stimulus for a couple of years you must know that there a British team , riding British bikes , and with one British rider on board , in the new look WorldSSP category . Simon Buckmaster ’ s Dynavolt Triumph team , with last year ’ s race winning rider
Stefano Manzi , 2023 signing and proven race winner Nikki Tuuli and homegrown WorldSSP hopeful Harry Truelove , have already shown the credentials of the Street Triple RS 765 .
This year , once again , Buckmaster gets to race in front of you lot , a home crowd . What does it mean to him and his team ? “ Obviously we ’ ve always been a British team , but now being a British team with a British bike and one British rider , I ’ m really proud of that ,” said Buckmaster . “ Obviously , then to go and perform in front of our own audience in England , is an honour in some degree . I am excited by it .”
There is usually much more hassle involved racing at your home race , but even with more guests and so on to look after , Buckmaster thinks it is easier , in some regards . “ It ’ s two and a half hours down the road !” said the ever practical Buckmaster . “ You have to say it ’ s less hassle , because we ’ re based in Louth . In the truck , it ’ s two and a half hours . We will have guests there and obviously Harry has a lot of guests . Triumph will also be there . So , there is that . You can say there ’ s a bit of pressure because of that - and excitement . But I ’ m really looking forward to it .”
