Were you any good in school ? I started homeschooling in fifth grade , because I ' d started doing the racing way more seriously . And so we couldn ' t keep going in public school . I was 10 or 11 years old . To be honest , I hated school . I never finished high school , never got my diploma . Now I don ’ t have to learn anything , all I want to do is learn stuff that interests me . I speak Spanish now , because I was curious about it .
What ' s it like being an American living in Europe ? Has it changed you ? I ’ m slightly less patriotic ! It ' s down a little bit !. Living in Europe opens your eyes to how other people live their lives and have different cultures . There ' s more than one way to live this life that we all have , you know ? We ' re all just trying to do the same stuff . We ' re all just trying to find food , shelter , love , all that . Like it ' s all the same problems , for the most part .
What ’ s the best place you have ever been ? The most shocking place was Indonesia . From western life , the contrasts were huge . And yet it was such a cool place ; everybody ’ s so happy . And I ' d say one of my favourite cities is Lisbon in Portugal . Like it ’ s just got a super cool vibe . It ' s got like the best food , in my opinion .
Have you got any peculiar pastimes ? I really love photography . And I collect coffee cups , like everywhere I go around the world I find a coffee cup , you know ? Different coffee cups from different places I travel to . I have a collection that ' s like two cabinets full at my house . From all over .
How many houses do you have ? Half of one right now in Texas ! Because half of it ' s still destroyed . I had a pipe bust in my attic and it flooded when there was no-one there . Nothing crazy , just a small little place . I have the apartment that I ' m renting in Andorra .
Describe yourself in five words . Reckless . Adventurous . Reserved . Goofy . Determined .
What ’ s with the hippy hair this year ? I ' m losing my hair a bit ! So I ' m growing it out . Just to try it and it ' s one last hurrah before I have to shave it all off .

Were you any good in school ? When I was younger , I didn ' t like school . I got bullied all the time because I ' m small and I didn ' t play rugby in Australia . When I moved to Spain , I studied two years in Barcelona in an American school . Same thing , didn ' t like the subjects . And there , I was a bit more mischievous in class . But not doing anything crazy .
Money or fame ? Money because it makes you happy . Sorry , no , money doesn ' t make you happy - but it can buy you stuff that makes you happy !
On balance , has your famous family name been a help or a hindrance to you ? I ' m gonna say a bit of both , you know , probably 50 / 50 . Obviously the knowledge as a kid that Wayne could give me was really good . But yeah , obviously you know , he ' s had problems in the past in the paddock , as you know everyone does , and obviously some doors have been shut as well .
Who ' s your best friend ? Probably Dakota Mamola ( Randy ’ s son ). We spent a lot of time together when I was a bit younger . He was kind of like my first friend , kind of somebody I knew when we came to Spain because , of Wayne and Randy . And yeah , we kind of spent our younger lives a lot together and started going to parties together . He was a bit older than me . So he was already doing a few things that I wasn ' t . We used to go train and ride all the time together . So yeah , it ’ s Dakota .
Do you have any weird hobbies ? I don ' t anymore but when I was living in Spain , I had my own little vegetable patch going . And it was like my little hobby . I would grow food and I liked spearfishing as well and then go and fish . Then I ’ d take the peppers and the potatoes from the ground , onions , garlic and carrots and then make up a big meal . I can also make really good aioli . Hand made . I practiced it so many times . I looked up a few videos online and I was just kind of like perfecting my recipe . Let ' s say . I ' m really good at making it !
