How would you describe yourself , as a cat person or a dog person ? Dog . Because I think I ’ m very passionate . When I do something , I do really with my heart not with my brain , unfortunately ! I have three dogs . I really love dogs .
Were you clever in school ? Yeah , I was good , but because I was , let ’ s say , always caring about my races . Even on sporting side , if I am good at something , I follow . But if I ’ m not good , I quit . If I have to do something , I have to do it right . If not , I don ’ t like it .
So if you didn ’ t happen to be a successful racer , what would you have done for a career ? Maybe a chef because I like eating ! But seriously , I like cooking a lot .
So what ' s your favourite cuisine ? Italian , pasta . I don ’ t eat it a lot , but this passion started when I was younger watching a lot of programs with cooking , with chefs and so on . I really like it . Then I started to cook a bit , but then when I chose my other higher school , the cooking school was really , really far from my home and was not possible for me to go every morning . So I ‘ quit my career .’ But when I am at home with my girlfriend , I like to cook .
Is that your home setup ? A girlfriend and two dogs ? Yeah . Now we live in separate houses because I live in a small house in my garden of my grandparents , but I like to share many moments with my friends , with my girlfriend . I really don ’ t like to be in the middle of ‘ the lights ’.
You travel a lot because of work . Where is your favourite place to be except for home ? Australia . It ’ s a place where I would like to live . My brother used to live here for some years . It is really a place where I would like to live for some years .

Where and when was your first race win on a regular motorcycle ? My first win - as a professional rider - was at Autopolis in Japan . I was 13 years old .
What is your favourite book or film ? For a film , I like action movies . My favourites are the Avengers movies … books … not really ( he ! he !)
Is your race number significant ? Have you had a special race number in the past ? In my career I always use 55 as my race number . Why ? Because it ' s my birthday - the fifth day of the fifth month .
Did you have a ‘ real ’ job before racing ? Do you still have another role away from racing ? No , no other job . I am a full time racer but I spend my time cycling and playing football .
How do you pass the time on a long-haul flight ? I just watch movies and listen to music .
Who is your hero , in racing or outside racing ? Out of racing is my father . It is because of him I am in Motorsport and as a mechanic , he has always been supporting me in any way possible . Inside racing , is Jorge Lorenzo . I like his riding style . Very smooth and fast .
What is your favourite circuit , and why ? For me , I like Motegi in Japan because it is very unique . We pass some of the corners under a tunnel !
Favourite place in the World to be if not Malaysia ? I like America and Japan .
What is your most treasured personal possession ? Not a possession as such but happiness , family and to enjoy the things that you like to do .
