A wise person once told me long ago that the most important thing in any racing campaign is the team . ‘ Teamwork makes the dream work ,’ as some now say . That ’ s valid as long as you have a competitive bike and support package , of course .
Anything less than good team-work risks disaster no matter how well equipped each rider is in other ways .
Nowadays strong WorldSBK teams contain so many dedicated staff across several job descriptions that each rider ’ s own personal mechanics are only one part of the overall organisation . But to get to the end of every pressurised race , never mind shoot for the podium positions , means that the mechanics are still very important human cogs in the winning mechanism .
