Who is your best friend in the world ? Myself . I have friends , but best friend ? I know I have friends that I can trust , but sometimes when there is something really personal , I handle it by myself . But there is some stuff … I don ’ t like to show to my friends my weakness , so I handle my weakness by myself .
If you could just go for a mega holiday somewhere , anywhere , where would you go ? Some hot place with the sea , with a boat . A luxury boat . It would be nice . Swimming , fishing maybe , eat fresh fish . Live life on the beautiful beaches for two weeks , three weeks . Also with a jet ski . That would be cool .
Were you any good in school ? I always went there and was never interested in what the teacher was saying . Not interested in the subject . For sure I understand that I was smart , because I never studied and I always achieved the minimum results to progress . But I never studied . It wasn ’ t my ‘ sport .’ But I can do easily other stuff that maybe is more difficult - if I have passion to .
Easier to study / work on things that make you a better racer , maybe ? Yeah . Like in our sport , I hate to train in the morning and train doing burpees ( like a pushup with a jump ). That is a strange exercise , but I know that that helps me . It ’ s not so easy . Doing that at 7:00 am in the morning is something you don ’ t want to do . But knowing that that ’ s going to help me to be more fit on the bike - that it has a purpose - I will do it .
How would you describe yourself ? I am open-hearted . Then , I am a little bit selfish , because to be here and dedicate all your life to pursue your dream , you have to ‘ cut ’ many other things . Friends , sometimes family , also time with your loved ones . This is selfish because it ’ s for you . So , I think selfish . Then , I am a dreamer . About my career mostly but also other things in life . I understand that there is the law of attraction . You dream about something really hard and the universe finds a way to give it to you . I am also misunderstood . For many reasons , but I understand that it ’ s difficult to let them know everything about who I am and how I am made .
¿ Quién es tu mejor amigo ? Yo mismo . Tengo amigos , pero ¿ mi mejor amigo ? Sé que hay algunos en los que puedo confiar , pero a veces cuando hay algo realmente personal , lo manejo solo . Pero algunas cosas … no me gusta mostrar mi debilidad a los amigos , así que la manejo yo solo .
Si pudieras irte a algún sitio para unas super vacaciones , ¿ adónde irías ? A alguno que fuera cálido , en el mar , con un barco . Un barco de lujo . Sería bueno . Nadar , pescar , comer pescado fresco . Vivir en hermosas playas durante dos o tres semanas . También con una moto de agua . Eso sería genial .
¿ Eras bueno en la escuela ? Nunca me interesó mucho lo que decía el profesor . No me interesa el tema . Estoy seguro de que era inteligente porque nunca estudié y siempre logré los resultados mínimos para seguir adelante . Pero nunca estudié . No era mi " deporte ". Pero puedo hacer fácilmente otras cosas tal vez más difíciles si tengo pasión por ello .
¿ Quizás te sea más fácil estudiar / trabajar en cosas que te hacen mejor piloto ? Sí . Odio entrenar por la mañana y hacer burpees ( como una flexión con un salto ). Es un ejercicio extraño , pero sé que me ayuda . No es tan fácil , ni algo que quieras hacer a las 7 de la mañana . Pero sé que me ayudará a estar en mejor forma sobre la moto , así que lo hago .
¿ Cómo te describes ? Soy alguien de corazón abierto , pero a la vez un poco egoísta porque para estar ahí y dedicar toda tu vida a perseguir tu sueño tienes que cortar muchas otras cosas . Amigos , familia , tiempo con tus seres queridos . Es egoísta porque es para ti . También soy un soñador , sobre todo respecto a mi carrera deportiva pero también para otras cosas en la vida . Entiendo que existe la ley de la atracción . Sueñas con algo realmente difícil y el universo encuentra la manera de dártelo . No se si me explico . Supongo que , por muchas razones , debe ser difícil que la gente comprenda realmente quién soy y cómo estoy hecho .
What do you do for fun on your own time ? Fishing in the sea , in my hometown of Llança . I live 100 meters from the sea . We fish from the boat , and we always try to catch Tuna . In the summer , we can ’ t do it too much because it ’ s too hot and the fishing is too long . I don ’ t have time . But when I finish the season , I go three or four times per week .
You have stayed in your hometown all your life ? Yes . I love the place . I love it because nobody bothers you . Not just me , all the people . There are not too many people . It ’ s quite small and I don ’ t have problems about anything there .
Where ’ s your favourite place if you had a chance to go on holiday anywhere ? Japan . All of the country , the cities and rural areas . I think when you go to Japan your first impression is like , ‘ wow , this is really different .’ It ’ s not like any other place . I like this element of it . I have been six times before , but all for racing , not a holiday .
Who is your best friend in the whole world ? Do you have a particular friend very close to you ? I have four best friends . We are like brothers . We grew up in the same area , from three years old to now . They are Marc , Antonio , Manuel , and Nil .
In Spain , you have many racers , but mostly they are from Catalunya . Why ? I don ' t know . I think because in Catalunya many years ago all the motorcycle factories were based in Catalunya . All the people were working for racing .
What ’ s the strangest thing about being a racer compared to working in an office or factory ? I love this job , but you don ’ t have ‘ hours ’, as you don ’ t have anything else . All your life you put into this job . You can go into a factory and you can say , ‘ Monday I need to go there , and on Friday - finished .’ But this job of being a racer is every day . You have holidays , but you are still thinking about this job . This is not a job . It ’ s like a passion , a lifestyle , working 365 a year . But it ’ s the life .

¿ Qué haces en tu tiempo libre para divertirte ? Pescar en el mar de Llançà , mi pueblo natal . Vivo a 100 metros del mar . Salimos en barco y tratamos de pescar atún casi siempre . En verano menos porque hace demasiado calor y la pesca exige muchas horas , no tengo tiempo . Pero cuando termina la temporada suelo ir tres o cuatro veces por semana .
¿ Has vivido siempre allí ? Sí . Me encanta el lugar . Me encanta porque nadie te molesta . No solo yo , todo el mundo . No hay demasiada gente . Es bastante pequeño y allí no tengo ningún problema con nada .
¿ Si tuvieras la oportunidad de irte de vacaciones a cualquier parte cuál sería tu lugar favorito ? Japón . Todo el país , las ciudades y las zonas rurales . Creo que cuando vas a Japón tu primera impresión es como , ' guau , esto es realmente diferente '. No hay ningún sitio parecido , eso es algo que me gusta . Ya he ido seis veces , pero siempre por temas de carreras , nunca de vacaciones .
¿ Quién es tu mejor amigo ? ¿ Tienes alguno en particular que sea muy cercano ? Mis mejores amigos son cuatro : Marc , Antonio , Manuel y Nil . Crecimos en la misma zona y nos conocemos desde que teníamos tres años . Somos como hermanos .
En España tenéis muchos pilotos , pero la mayoría son de Catalunya . ¿ Por qué ? No lo sé . Creo que es porque hace bastantes años todas las fábricas de motos tenían su sede en Catalunya . Había mucha gente trabajando para las carreras .
¿ Qué es lo más extraño de ser piloto , comparado con trabajar en una oficina o una fábrica ? Me encanta este trabajo pero no tienes ' horas ', ya que te exige mucho . Dedicas toda tu vida a este trabajo . En la fábrica puedes decir : " El lunes empiezo y el viernes , termino ". Pero el oficio de piloto es para todos los días . Tienes vacaciones , pero sigues pensando en el trabajo . Así que no es un trabajo , es como una pasión , un estilo de vida , que supone trabajar los 365 días del año . Pero es la vida .
