Celebrate Tu B’ Shvat with an evening of creativity, connection, and your best gals! Local emerging artist, Elana Asher, will guide us through the elegant art of quilling, using coiled paper strips to create intricate designs. Inspired by the Sheva Minim( Seven Species), each guest will choose to craft either an olive branch or a pomegranate— symbols of growth, peace, and abundance.

A Gershwin Playground Guy Mintus Trio

Alongside trio members Alon Near and Philippe Lemm, he performs bold reimagining’ s of Gershwin classics from their album A Gershwin Playground, featuring hits like“ Summertime” and“ Rhapsody in Blue.” Hailed by DownBeat Magazine for taking listeners“ on a rocket ride,” Mintus has earned the Leonard Bernstein Award, the Herb Alpert Young Jazz Composer Award, and Montreux Jazz Festival’ s piano prize. A soloist at venues like Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center, and Jazz at Lincoln Center, he has led the Guy Mintus Trio since 2016, with international tours to the Montreal Jazz Festival, Dizzy’ s Club, Jazz à Juan, Mezzrow, and more.

Ambassador Roger D. Carstens is a leading figure in diplomacy and hostage affairs, widely respected for his commitment to humanitarian values and protecting Americans abroad. From 2020 to 2025, he served as Special Presidential Envoy for Hostage Affairs( SPEHA), leading negotiations with the Taliban, Assad regime, Maduro government, China, Russia, Belarus, and terrorist organizations including the Haqqani Network, Houthis, and JNIM. His efforts led to the return of over 65 American hostages and wrongful detainees under both the Trump and Biden Administrations. He also worked closely with families, keeping them informed and supported throughout the process. Drawing on a background in diplomacy, military service, and human rights, Ambassador Carstens shares powerful stories and insights from the front lines of highstakes negotiations.
