The repetitious lull of suburbia echoes grumbling engines and demands of property rights, fenced in homes, the need to be separate. The creatures, the trees, the microorganisms will all be silenced if we submit to greed. Don't kid yourself, approving expansion to build another mansion is to permit a formal induction of destruction. Blame isn’t the game though, we have agency. All of this will be gone if we don't compromise. To compromise is to leave the wetlands as is, leave the life-forms be, let them just be. Observe, to conserve is to preserve, not to reserve the interests of a few people, the nerve. We have the power to protect millions of lives by making a sustainable decision, to protect the wetlands. No Mr. Guthrie, this isn't our land for the taking. The wetlands will be gone if we don't compromise. 17
