achieve those dreams”. In a much different world, at
least some of these were significantly easier to come by
(maybe not romantic love, but definitely a job…).
Arguably, we live in a time of crisis, with the majority of
citizens in this cohort finding themselves unable to
support themselves financially, gain long-term
employment (or any employment at all if you find
yourself in the Niagara region), move out on their own,
or even afford fresh and healthy food.
Accumulatively, these external stressors likely
create and sustain a general buzzing fear in the back of
our heads, which is likely a major contributor of the
increasingly poor health of this controversial cohort.
Rather than looking internally at neurological
deficiencies and placing the blame primarily onto
cognitive processes, I believe it is time to expand our
collective focus outwards in critical examination of our
quickly degrading surroundings.
