Beginner Writing Feature Articles – Handout 1.3a 1.3a Develop an Angle Developing an angle means writing about a topic using your own special spin or perspective. By doing this, you will offer readers something unique or different, which will grab their attention. Here’s an example: Topic: Recycling Angle 1: Recycling by people living in NYC apartments Angle 2: People who don’t recycle because they think it is bad for the environment Angle 3: Using recycled plastic as art TRY IT. Instead of writing about the “same old thing,” give your topic a new angle, a surprising twist or an unusual point of view.
