Students ?nalize their topics and angles by testing them against a series of questions. Students then
continue to prewrite to ensure that the topics they selected are suitable as the focus of their feature
articles.

Students will decide on the purpose and angle of their feature articles given additional opportunity to test
their topics.

If there is no access to the technology needed for this lesson, try the following options:
?? Mini Lesson: Instead of using a computer/LCD projector to model, use chart paper.

Writer’s Work Time: Instead of asking students to share their topics in the Online Classroom,
distribute chart paper to students and ask them to post their name, topic and angle on the chart.
Students can walk around the room commenting on each other’s topics and angles.
