Eyes of a Sinner

I could see the sun
I start grabbing at it
Trying to move up closer to it
So I can feel the rays on my face and restore air back to my
lungs
The faster I waved my arms the more it seems that I am not
getting anywhere
Running out of breath can’t hold it much longer
Cherubic visions inundate my thoughts
Her rosy cheeks
Her angelical smile
Apparitions of my unborn child
My womb of life became her tomb
I never gave her the chance to bloom
Foolish rationalization laid the foundation to ruin
With fear of a future
Not being able to provide
I aborted child
Demons torment me everywhere I reside
Introspection stricken my mind
Compunction perforates my heart and takes hold
Will I forever weigh the transgressions of my youth as I
grow old
My soul walks within the Devil's abode
The salty water stings my eyes
But I can still
Eyes of a Sinner
Still see the sun
Praying that I can hold out because the sun is getting bigger
by each stroke
I am starting to feel the heat
At a steady pace I keep on moving up
Closer and closer bigger and bigger
I see the sun
Finally my face feels the cool breeze
I fill my lungs with air
I feel the sun
Now where is the land

Cold clean air saturates my lungs
I am enamored with the beauty of a rising sun
A correlation of joy tingles my thoughts
Is this what fathers sense
Witnessing the birth of their son's
Is this what their enliven eye's endure
Such spectacular allure
The warmth of his being pervade the skin
The nourishment of life which accompanies him
Did my father experience this beauty and love
As men
Do we truly treasure natures miraculous gift of love
My opportunity will come in time
To bear witness to my majestic sunshine
