Book to Blog (Cont’d)
Major companies are finding my content online and contacting me directly
about reviewing their food products, sharing their recipes, and advertising for
their events on my blog. I have conducted a food demonstration and book
signing at the Travel & Adventure Show. I’ve won National Pork Board’s
#GrillPork Food Blogging Contest. I have also written and published The Food
Enchantress and a cookbook, Cooking on a Dollar Store Budget. As I get ready to
re-release The Food Temptress this year under my own publishing company, I
pause to reflect on this journey. Originally, I just wanted to write a book and see
it in print. I never expected it to take on a life of its own and bring me to this
place. In a nutshell, I have embraced my brand, which is based on a book I
penned nine years ago. And, it all started with a great book title.
Rekaya Gibson, Food Blogger of The Food Temptress, is the author of three
fiction novels and two children’s books. Her latest work, Cooking on a Dollar
Store Budget, reflects her love of food. She has written articles for several
publications including Writer’s Digest Books, Amtrak, and Cabo Living Magazine.
In her spare time, she reviews cookbooks for Cuisine Noir Magazine.
