However, the conference was great, and as always, I learned some things I
hadn’t been aware of by attending presentations when I wasn’t appearing. A
big bonus was running into my friend Maralys Wills who was presenting
workshops as well.
I hadn’t seen Maralys for several years, and she is one of the most engaging,
knowledgeable people I know. Before you ask, the answer is ‘yes, I did go to
one of her workshops and as always learned from her.’ So here’s a treat for my
readers. This month we have an article by Maralys and she will be contributing
more articles in the future. Yippee.

Exciting things are happening with the Writers Tricks of the Trade Radio Show
as we work out our latest alliance with www.coldcoffeepress.com as well as
increased sponsorship by Writers of Southern Nevada. If you haven’t visited the
http://writerstricksofthetraderadio.blogspot.com, the web page for the radio
show, stop by and check out overviews of all of the archived broadcasts along
with a Show Directory that has a direct link to each episode. There are currently
17 on different topics.
I will be a guest blogger on July 17 on the Buried Under Books Blog talking
about how Writers Tricks of the Trade became a brand. Be sure to check it out.

This issue has a heavy concentration on memoirs, autobiographies, etc., so my
“Corner” wouldn’t be complete without mentioning the upcoming “Memories
are Made of This,” conference October 23-25, at Los Angeles Valley College in
the L.A. area, presented by West Coast Writers Conferences. Visit their website
for more information.
