Morgan's Corner is the feature where I share what's been
going on in my own writing life and what is on tap for the

I was honored to be chosen as one of the presenters for West
Coast Conference's THE BIG STORY CONFERENCE at Los
Angeles Valley College in Van Nuys, CA February 20-22.
There were individual tracks for fiction, non-fiction and
screenwriting. I presented a workshop entitled Character
Driven vs Plot Driven Fiction and also participated as a
panelist on two panels. All were well received. I love it when
people come up to me afterward and tell me how much they
learned or how much they enjoyed it.

On our conference listings page, I generally include
something that says "You never know who you will meet at a
conference." Since I know virtually nothing about
screenwriting, between my own appearances I attended
some of the screenwriting tracks. I was so impressed by
screenwriter Christine Conradt and her workshops that I
made it a point to talk to her and get to know her.

Guess what? Christine has contributed to this edition of WTT
and will also have an article in the next edition. She has the
impressive track record of writing four indie features and
more than 40 made-for-TV movies that have aired on
Lifetime, LMN, USA, and Fox. And she gives informative
Webinars, as well. See what I mean. Without going to the
