You and Huck Carbonaro were supposed to kill
Sammy “The Bull” Gravano who owned
Marathon Construction in Arizona. Gravano was
living a very public life and even referred to
himself as “the youngest, best looking turncoat
in Mafia history.” What prevented that and
saved you from becoming a killer? There are so many more things I would like to
ask you, but space is limited. I’ll finish with a few
questions. Why did you go into the witness
protection program and are you concerned
about giving interviews?
We found Gravano's Arizona construc-
tion business, with fancy cars with tinted
windows parked outside. It looked like a
mob hangout in Brooklyn. I said to Huck,
“We must have run up on a den of rats."
We considered taking out Gravano with
a sniper's bullet or a directional bomb that
would spew shotgun bullets. That wasn’t
going to happen because Gravano was ar-

Why does anyone go into witness pro-
