New Blood Art provides an online platform for up and coming artists to sell their work. Sarah Ryan founded the scheme in 2004. A Fine Art graduate herself, Sarah had two goals. Her first priority was to increase access to affordable art. Secondly, having worked various part time jobs whilst studying for her degree, Sarah wanted to create a means of employment whereby students could utilised their creative talents. The website was the perfect solution. The popularity, and credibility, of New Blood Art, is in large part due to the quality of artists Sarah selects. The website has gained a reputation for scouting students bound for great success. Sarah comments,“ My favourite part of the work is visiting the colleges and studios and meeting the artists. I look for the very best artists emerging from degree courses, using the best materials and techniques and I get to know them personally. We have gained a good reputation for spotting artists who go onto to do very well.
