“ I’ m the worst film director, the biggest amateur and a brilliant failure.”- Fabrizio Federico

‘ Black Biscuit’ is the directorial debut of Fabrizio Federico. The amateur filmmaker had no experience, no funding, and no script; but decided not to let these small matters hold him back in creating a full-length feature.
‘ Black Biscuit’ loosely follows the adventures of Chet, played by Federico. Out of work and penniless, Chet begins working as a male escort to fund his dream of filmmaking. Federico is fervently anti convention. His film was shot using mobile phones and toy children’ s cameras. Instead of actors, he uses‘ street super stars’ the homeless, prostitutes, people with disabilities, and captures them without a script, in unstructured scenes.
The narrative is erratic at best, and the nature of the technology used means most of the footage is of poor quality. Though Federico would have you believe this is the best kind of filmmaking.
