b BOUTIQUE WORLD FIRST The new Derrick Tourbillon from Louis Moinet is a world first, combining a tourbillon with a working oil derrick. This unique device, visible over a large part of the petroleum blue dial, is in constant motion, completing its cycle every 15 seconds. Its rocking lever is made entirely of brushed aluminum. Produced in a limited edition of just 12 pieces, the hand-wound Derrick Tourbillon stands out for the impressive visibility of the winding mechanism through the exhibition caseback. The “octopus” spring plays three roles by acting as pull-out piece spring, lever spring and click spring. The impressive 47mm white gold case is composed of 59 different parts and is equipped with the Louis Moinet crown guard, incorporating the stem in such a way as to enable easy replacement if required. FLYING HIGH Representing a major advancement for Louis Vuitton watchmaking, the new Flying Tourbillon “Poincon de Geneve” watch catapults the brand into the inner circle of the watchmaking houses that have earned this prestigious certification. With a new case, a never-beforeseen skeleton tourbillon movement and an exceptional degree of transparency thanks to the smoked sapphire dial, the 41mm platinum model is a statement in minimalism. The V of the tourbillon cage at 6 o’clock is entirely block-polished and boasts a mirror-like shine, while an off-center dial at 12 shows the hours and minutes and is punctuated by a series of indexes, also in the brand’s signature V shape. 34 WRISTWATCH | 2016
