b BOUTIQUE TRANSPARENT TIMEKEEPING Combining elaborate finishes with remarkable accuracy, the new 1966 Skeleton from Girard-Perregaux offers a glimpse into the heart of its magnificent automatic caliber thanks to its impressive open-worked components, all decorated by hand. Delicate and complex, the open-worked structure of the large automatic movement invites the wearer to view the gears, levers, bolts and other typically invisible components – all chamfered, polished, satin-brushed and hand-finished. The defining feature of the eye-catching dial is the striking balance wheel, boldly placed at 12 o’clock. The 38mm pink gold case is equipped with a sapphire crystal caseback through which you can see the skeletonized oscillating weight of the large automatic movement, derived from the famous GP1800 caliber. WEIGHTLESS WINDER It’s feather-light weight both belies and enforces the technical merit of materials and construction in Richard Mille’s latest version of the RM 005. Offered in two limited editions created specifically for the Americas, the “White Legend” and “Black Legend” series were created in collaboration with their golf ambassador and two-time Masters winner, Bubba Watson. As with previous “Bubba Milles” the new limited editions are forged from super light materials that are strong enough to withstand shocks up to 5000 G’s but feel like almost nothing on the wrist. The tonneau-shaped tripartite case features an NTPT Carbon cap and base with a shot blasted titanium center structure. Inside the case beats the RMUL2 manual-win ding movement. Only 90 of each edition will be available at select Richard Mille locations for a retail price of $120,000. 24 WRISTWATCH | 2016
