b BOUTIQUE OVER THE MOON Arnold & Son recently enhanced its distinguished Royal collection with this new HM Double Hemisphere Perpetual Moon, with not one but two of the biggest moon phase indications on the market. For the first time, this groundbreaking timepiece displays the moon phases as they can be seen both from the northern and southern hemispheres respectively. The rich, blue lacquered gu illoche dial and two three-dimensional moons are framed by a 42mm red gold case that houses the manual-wind caliber A&S 1512. The 27-jewel movement offers one of the most accurate moon phases on the market, with only one day’s deviation every 122 years – at which point a single push on the corrector will keep it in sync for another 122 years. FIGHTING SPIRIT For its latest creation, Manufacture Royale drew inspiration from the epic battle waged by Voltaire and Rosseau, two brilliant philosophers and sworn enemies of the Age of Enlightenment. With its dark, inky hue, this new automatic model symbolizes their gifted minds during a fight where the pen replaced the sword. Limited to 38 pieces (Rosseau’s age when the fight first began), the 1770 Voltige Black Feather features a microblasted, black PVD-treated steel case. The matching dial is crossed by a vertical côtes de Genève decoration and displays a seconds counter at 6 o’clock with a unique mesh decoration. A deep blue color adorns the hands, dial screws, minutes scale and canvas heart of the strap. 20 WRISTWATCH | 2016
