And one initiative that really caught my attention was Frederique Constant’s work with Heart Beat in South Africa.
In 2015, Frederique Constant began supporting Heart Beat
South Africa.
As part of their involvement, Frederique Constant is sponsoring
5 girls taking part in the Young Hearts Leadership Program. Ms. Stas
explained that this program combines technology, mentoring skills,
entrepreneurship development and education.
Having developed a presence in seven provinces and fourteen
communities over the past 15 years, Heartbeat’s accredited training
and mentorship program continues to touch the lives of those who
participate.
Heartbeat has met the immediate and developmental needs of
over 55,000 orphans and vulnerable children to date. Another thing
that was intriguing was Heartbeat’s approach to developing future
leaders in their communities, while helping them to become agents
of change in the world beyond their own.
Heartbeat was founded in 2000 by Professor Sunette Pienaar in
response to the socio-economic impact of HIV/AIDS on communities
in South Africa. Her vision was to provide care, support and opportunities to the many children orphaned mainly as a result of the epidemic with the aim of integrating them into society and the economy.
And because we are big fans of good deeds, we are teaming up
with Frederique Constant on another one of their charitable partnerships. Gwyneth Paltrow has joined forces with Frederique Constant
to support “Donors Choose”, a charity that supports school projects.
We have a special announcement coming in our next issue, so be
sure to stay tuned for more information about how you can join in this
campaign, and possibly win a prize in the process!
