NEWS OMEGA SUPPORTS GOODPLANET FOUNDATION OMEGA first partnered with the GoodPlanet Foundation in 2011. Following the success of the inaugural Planet Ocean film, as well as several beneficial conservation projects, the legendary brand is commemorating the partnership with the release of several new timepieces. Earlier this year, the new documentary TERRA was launched worldwide, highlighting the fragile relationship between humans and animals. From this film, two new wildlife projects have been established in Botswana and a portion of sales from these watches will help to fund the ongoing work. The new titanium Aqua Terra “GoodPlanet” stands out for its use of the ocean’s color, which is found on the applied blued indexes, OMEGA logo, and facetted blued hands, all set against a lacquered white dial. Unlike other Aqua Terra models, these watches do not feature the typical teak design. The watch comes with a polished-brushed titanium bracelet and is also presented with a blue coated nylon fabric strap. In the 43mm model, powered by OMEGA’s Master C0-Axial Calibre 8605, the dial features a GMT 24-hour display with a red-tipped GMT hand and date window at 6 o’clock. The second model, driven by OMEGA’s Master Co-Axial Calibre 8500, has a diameter of 38.5mm and features its date window at 3 o’clock. Both timepieces come equipped with a sapphire crystal exhibition caseback that reveals the movement within and also features engravings that include the GoodPlanet Foundation logo in varnished blue. BELL & ROSS TAKES CHARGE IN ASIA AND MIDDLE EAST Following the opening of several Bell & Ross boutiques around the globe in 2015, the brand continues its international development strategy by charting its own course in the Asian and Middle East markets. Effective immediately, Bell & Ross timepieces will be distributed by Bell & Ross Incorporated in North Asia (Hong Kong, Taiwan and China) and the change of distributorship will follow with Southeast Asia (Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand), beginning on July 1, 2016. “We are very excited about this change with continuity in this region in perpetual motion. It sets a new milestone in the international development of Bell & Ross,” explains Fabien de Nonacourt, Bell & Ross Global Sales Director. “Asia is a unique market because of its vastness and dramatic growth and reveals a significant sensitivity for luxury culture. We are looking forward to a closer contact with our partners and aficionados throughout the region.” For the last ten years, FJ Benjamin has implemented and accompanied the growth of Bell & Ross and has consolidated Bell & Ross positioning in the luxury sector by building a premium retailers network. “Our deepest gratitude goes to Mr. Nash Benjamin for believing in our brand since its creation and bringing our products to Asia,” commented Carlos-A Rosillo, co-founder and CEO of Bell & Ross. “We are grateful to have had such great partnership with FJ Benjamin, promoting us, in the past.” The transition will happen under the leadership of Mr. Tong Chee Wei, who has been working with Bell & Ross for more than fifteen years. He will be assisted by the existing sales and marketing teams to ensure a seamless transition. 120 WRISTWATCH | 2016
